Sketch Club EAST

Mark McDonnell formed this division where after lunch, Sketch Club EAST identifies a person of interest, usually for their unique or distinct characteristics too. The subject is briefly studied without drawing. Once back from lunch and back at the drawing board, the subject is drawn from memory. (Due to the sucess of The Sketch Club, this division was formed . . .thank you Marcelo, Steve, Marcos, and Noelle...you paved the way!)

WHEN SKETCHCLUBS COLLIDE . . .TOO

This time around was special adventure. I went to visit the extrememly talented members of the original Sketchclub (Westside Edition) for lunch and a nice sketching session at their famous retreat. As we left the food depot and wandered into the warm southern California heat of the summertime, our "mark" was pretty much chosen for us. Like a goose wandering the city streets, this little beauty flapped her way across the street . . . and thankfully out of our lives. Just kidding of course. What a great character to remember and scrawl upon some sheets of paper.

Thanks guys. See you at Chico's next time . . .

Hey, I just saw a write-up on you guys in the August issue of HOW Magazine. Way to go! Very inspiring stuff. I'm planning to start doing some memory sketches myself soon.

It is great to see such diligence in keeping the Sketch Club East going. It looks like A great opportunity to do a little socializing, get away from those monitors, and take a close look to what it around. It’s a pleasure to see the different impact a subject matter has on different people. A treat for every one that stops by.

What a fun site! Love seeing the different take on a single character. I'll be sure to check this out from time to time to see more.
