Sketch Club EAST

Mark McDonnell formed this division where after lunch, Sketch Club EAST identifies a person of interest, usually for their unique or distinct characteristics too. The subject is briefly studied without drawing. Once back from lunch and back at the drawing board, the subject is drawn from memory. (Due to the sucess of The Sketch Club, this division was formed . . .thank you Marcelo, Steve, Marcos, and paved the way!)

FoodCourt121905_Jim Vanderkeyl

We had the pleasure of a guest artist on Monday 12/19/05, Jim Vanderkeyl-an award winning animator from Dreamworks who has worked on several big films from SharkTale and Over the Hedge to the very well know Iron Giant.
We hope to have him back soon, here is his memory sketch of our mark from that day.

Monday Food Court Memory Sketch

Our mark this time was a very unsuspecting gruff character. Stuffed in the corner with a tired arm dangling on his knee, "Beanie Man" was the obvious choice.

Here is my memory sketch from 12/5/05...We hit some new ground today, the food court @ the local Burbank mall...Well we spotted this guy @ the coffee joint.....From the look of it he was zombified and I felt not even the biggest cup of joe could wake him from his dumbfounded slumber.... a fun one for me to do....

Clean up in the Food Court. Clean up in . . .

Here's a handly fella. This time our mark appeared to be another employee of the bulk sales in "Warehouseville."
These sketches are more of the thinking process this time, rough and exploratory. I did not clean up or adjust any of the potential errors, in order to show process. Hope you enjoy.
